Stephen Farrell is a Documentary Photographer who divides his time between Ireland, Mexico and New York. A well established photographer of Ireland’s built heritage, Stephen has a postgraduate in Building Conservation and has made numerous photographic contributions to the principal publications in the field.
Stephen also has a profile as a Fine Art photographer, having exhibited in numerous group shows and annual exhibitions across Ireland and the UK. The final pieces tread a delicate balance between the sublime and the dystopic in the urban environment, where aesthetics and the social document display a visual tension.
Currently on sabbatical from a PhD in Photography at Ulster University Belfast, Stephen has taken this time to work on personal photographic projects and to broaden his scope of subject matter and areas of research.
